Last week my dear hubby and I took a break from the pressures of daily life and responsibilities helping my dad convalesce and we went to Pensacola Beach for the Silken Sands Writers' Conference. An added bonus (and the only reason I would drive seven hours each way) was that I got to spend time with my crit partner and former naughty chick, Savannah Stuart.
Aside from seeing Savannah and doing the whole conference thing, I even got to meet current chick, Casey Crow, who is just as adorable as her posts!
I got to listen to some awesome workshops, hang with buddies Savannah, Cynthia Eden, Manda Collins and Jeffe Kennedy as well as had a sumptuous lunch with Carina Press Managing Editor, Angela James at a beach side restaurant with a view of scantily clad young men playing volleyball. I won a pink voodoo doll that Cynthia Eden totally coveted, had a gorgeous room with a balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and came home with dozens of books I can't wait to dig into. I met all sorts of great folks and even had some quality time with the hubster.

Here are some pictures from the weekend. Don't you wish you were there? The next conference I will attend is more than a year away -- RWA Nationals 2013 in Atlanta. Hope to see you there!

I was so close to going!! Yes, I'm whining! It looks like you had a ball, and the beach looks sooo awesome! This is me trying not to be jealous... LOL!
A much needed break, I'm sure. The pictures are wonderful. I'm so glad you had a great time.
Jealous!!! You and Savannah are so darn cute :)
I can't believe you fit all that in and still had quality time with your man. That's impressive, lady.
Ok, that's it. Naughty Author Chicks pact to meet up there next year? Dang that looks amazing.
Awe, thanks, Wynter! Loved meeting you, too!
PS - Can you believe I didn't even take a picture of the beach! LOL Good thing my two sisters live in Pensacola.
