There are a few fantasy and urban fantasy writers who do it well. Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, Jacqueline Carey, but my excitement over the rest has usually died after about number three.Michelle Polarishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03717774498289472190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-295035878432187803.post-31588274221120721832011-06-21T05:46:15.640-04:002011-06-21T05:46:15.640-04:00LOL! That said, I've read a few that have gone on too long. 3 seems to be the magic number for most, though I've read some good ones through 7 or 8.

I'm not going to RWA. One of my crit partners is up for the Golden Heart, so I'm extra bummed.Dalton Diazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05176463811948745241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-295035878432187803.post-72133687663399744012011-06-20T23:55:40.829-04:002011-06-20T23:55:40.829-04:00Tried the coconut mocha frappachino--like being on...Tried the coconut mocha frappachino--like being on a tropical isle in the middle of...

Target.

Yep. You're right, characters become like old friends and it's always fun to catch up with what they're doing!

Also, when you introduce a character in a story, you don't always have time to develop them as much as you'd like. Giving them their own book in a series is like extra whipped cream on your mocha latte! Delicious...Jina Bacarrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07858018049423464275noreply@blogger.com
