Summertime - Yeah!

It's almost here! The summer is officially only two days away! Ever since I was a kid I've loved the hot weather, the relaxed schedule, the total lack of responsibilities. Well, okay -- I do have responsibilities that don't take a vacation, but you know what I mean.

Summer means vacations for lots of people and vacations mean beach reads. With the rise of ebook readers beach reads can now include erotic romance.

Gone are the days when respectable wives and mothers wouldn't be seen with a risque romance cover. Don't you love the privacy ebook readers give us?

I have a few go-to authors for my beach reads -- Mary Kay Andrews, Fern Michaels, Karen Kelley. I love light, fun books I know will give me that warm fuzzy feeling at the end. Even better -- give me a whole series of light, fun books.

And just in case you need a recommendation, my latest series from Ellora's Cave, Wanton Weston Women delivers with some tropical locales and some steamy sex;-)

Okay, so dish -- what are your favorite beach reads?

I love summer too, Wynter. (But I have to wonder about your name. LOL)

I think part of the joy in summer reading was not caring if people saw your romance novel cover. It's summer! The heavy, intellectual books of the school year give way to light, fluffy reading on purpose. It's time for a much needed mental vacation too.

Congrats on your new release! I'll check it out.

Thanks, Ash. Yeah, my name doesn't convey my love of all things hot;-)

While I don't get to go to the beach, I do love lazy, summer afternoons where I don't have to do anything but lay about, have the tv droning in the background and read, read, read! My favorite summer reads are Beth Kery, Nalini Singh, Lara Adrian, Debra Glass, Jessica Lee, Lena Matthews, Lora Leigh just to name a few!

Wow - good picks, Naima! I love me some Nalini!

I have a stack of books in my TBR pile and it keeps growing every week. I hope I'll be able to squeeze in some beach time, vacation time, reading time...yeah, that would be nice.

All the book suggestions sound great.

I hope you will, Jax. You know how many more you'll bring home from RWA!
